Today we launch the series on how to style your accessories.

You don’t have to spend a fortune to look a million dollars when your accessories can do half the work for you.

Of course, the other half is your personality.

Personal style is personal. It is more about you than the items you wear.

How you select clothing items, put them together, and carry yourself in your outfits, is all down to you – no pressure.

Let’s begin the How to Style series from the bottom, footwear.

Shoes giveaway a lot about a person and their style.

You can be judged by your shoes.

Check out this TIME article on a study published in the  Journal of Research in Personality.

Beyond the obvious tell-tale signs of wealth (designer shoes), gender, and so on, research participants were able to

“…accurately assess another person’s level of attachment anxiety — whether you tend to be clingy and insecure in your close relationships, or more laid-back and relaxed — based on their choice of shoes.”

If you could be named after a shoe, what would you be called?

I am likely to be named ankle-boots, because I wear them all the time in fall/winter.

Shoes come in different styles…

Stilettos

Ballerina Pumps

How do you know what shoe style is right for you?
How do you know which pair of shoes goes with what outfit?
What shoes are right for what event and with what clothes?
Should comfort trump elegance or the other way round?

As we go along on these series, we will answer all these questions.

Coming soon… the Ankle-Boot.
